**How to Relocate a TNB Electricity Meter (Meter Relocation)**
We provide TNB electricity meter relocation services for residential homes and commercial premises in a safe, legal manner and in accordance with TNB specifications. All processes are handled by Electrical Contractors registered with the Energy Commission (ST), including site inspection, document preparation, submission to TNB, until the work is completed and the electricity supply is reconnected.

1. Identify the Reason for Relocation
A TNB meter may be relocated for the following reasons:
Renovation works / kitchen, gate, or porch modification
Meter too close to wet or hazardous areas
Blocked access / safety concerns
Aesthetic requirements (external finishing)
2. Appoint a Registered Electrical Contractor
Meter relocation must be handled by:
Electrical Contractors registered with the Energy Commission (ST)
Contractors experienced in dealing with TNB
The contractor will:
Conduct a site inspection
Propose a new location in accordance with TNB specifications
Prepare drawings & supporting documents
3. Prepare the Required Documents
TNB usually requires:
Copy of the premises owner’s IC
Latest electricity bill
Land title / ownership documents / nearest neighbor’s electricity bill
Photos of the existing meter location & proposed new location
Application form (handled by the contractor)
4. Submit Application to TNB
Application is submitted through the TNB system by the contractor
TNB will review and conduct a site visit (if required)
Quotation / charges will be informed
5. Meter Relocation Works
After approval:
Electricity supply will be temporarily disconnected
Wiring works and meter relocation will be carried out
TNB will reconnect the supply and conduct verification
6. Supply Reconnection
Meter is reactivated at the new location
Safety testing is performed
Process completed
