DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR A NEW ELECTRICITY METER

Under an Individual Name

Completed and signed Application Form

Copy of Applicant’s Identification Document

Identity Card (IC) or Military ID or Police ID or Passport ONLY

Attention:

Copy of Identity Card must be:

• Front and back copies;

• Marked at the top left corner with the wording “TNB Purpose Only” or “Untuk Kegunaan TNB Sahaja”.

Documentary Proof of Premises Occupancy

Proof of ownership (owner):

• Land Title / Latest Official Land Title Search / Strata Title; or

• Stamped Sale and Purchase Agreement containing the following pages:

  • Agreement between Buyer and Seller;

  • Full address of the premises;

  • Signatures of both parties; or

• Sale Declaration (complete pages)

If none of the above three documents are available, the applicant must apply as a non-owner / occupant.

Proof of occupancy (non-owner / occupant):

• Valid and Stamped Tenancy Agreement containing the following pages:

  • Agreement between Owner and Tenant;

  • Full address of the premises;

  • Signed by both parties

If the above document is not available, any related document stating the applicant’s occupancy of the premises is also acceptable, such as;

• Residency Verification Declaration (e.g. by Village Head / Penghulu / MPKK)

• Utility bills or invoices such as Indah Water Konsortium (IWK); or

• Telephone bill (fixed line only); or

• Land tax and / or assessment tax; or

• Any official correspondence under the applicant’s name;
  and;

Additional Supporting Documents for Premises Conducting Commercial and Industrial Activities:

Development Order, permit, licence, or any form of approval or authorization from the local authority.

Authorization Letter on Company / Association / Agency Letterhead

The Authorization Letter must be signed by company management and include:

• Name of the individual authorized to sign the application form;

• IC number of the authorized individual;

• Telephone number;

• Premises address

Copy of Registration Certificate

Company:

• Application for Registration of a Company (Section 14) and Notice of Registration (Section 15);
  or Company (Form 9);
  or Certificate of Incorporation on Change of Company Name (Form 13) and Company Director / Managing Director details (Form 49);

Business:

• or Business Registration Certificate under the Registration of Businesses Act 1956 (Form D) and Latest Business Profile Search by SSM;

Law Firm:

• or Letter of No Objection or equivalent certification document from the Bar Council;
  or Joint Management Body Certificate;
  or Corporate Management Certificate;
  or Association Registration Certificate;
  or any other form of official organizational registration document
  (for example, Mosques and Private Islamic Schools registered under the State Islamic Religious Department,
  or Corporations registered under the Companies Commission of Malaysia)

• Name of the individual appointed to sign the application form;

• IC number of the appointed individual;

• Telephone number;

• Premises address
